SHORT DESCRIPTION
Sightseeing usually take last two hours. Visitors will have a chance to see monuments from different time periods: Bosnian Kingdom, Ottoman Empire, Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and relatively recent history – Founding of communist Yugoslavia. Basic part of sightseeing is panoramic view of waterfall.
In about two hour the group will have the possibility to see the following National Monuments:
- The Catacombs/Underground Church (the only monument from the time of Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić -the founder of the town of Jajce) -St. Mary Church and the Sultan Sulejman Mosque (the place of the crowning of the last Bosnian kind Stjepan Tomašević, 15th century. -Fortress (a defense fortress and citadel that was unfenced in many periods of the 14th and 18th century) -Kršlakov house (Bosnian architecture from the 18th century) -Omer-Begova house (traditional Bosnian Guesthouse from the 17th century) -Esma-Sultanija Mosque (Central Town Mosque and most important object from the Ottoman’s period in Jajce from the 18th century. It is the only Mosque having a female name in this part of Europe) -Austrian-Hungarian (The complex is made up of three objects: the primary school, the finance building and “Šarenica” – the place where TANJUG the press agency of former Yugoslavia was founded) -AVNOJ Museum (The place where new Yugoslavia was founded during the 2. World War) -Waterfall (A natural phenomenon and the landmark of Jajce is the waterfall which is 17 meters high and located in the city center of Jajce which makes this place a very unique place in the world.)
Note: Participants should have proper footwear and it is favorable to carry water with you, especially in the summer time.
